CBD Potency Explained: How to Choose Between 1000mg and 10000mg
The milligram number on a CBD bottle describes the total cannabinoid content in the whole container, not the amount in a single serving. A 1,000mg bottle and a 10,000mg bottle of the same size hold very different concentrations per dropper: divide the total milligrams by the number of milliliters, and then by drops per milliliter, to estimate how much CBD a full dropper actually delivers. That arithmetic, not the biggest headline number, is what determines the strength you experience.
There is no official recommended dose of CBD. Because the FDA has not approved CBD as a dietary supplement and has established a standard dose only for the prescription seizure medication Epidiolex, general guidance from health researchers is to start low, go slow, and give any routine time before adjusting. A gentler potency such as 1,000mg suits newcomers who want fine control over servings, while higher strengths let experienced users reach the same serving in fewer drops. Body weight, individual chemistry, and what you are hoping to notice all factor in.
Whichever strength you choose, CBD is not a treatment for any medical condition, and higher potency does not mean stronger health effects. CBD can also interact with certain medications, so if you take prescription drugs—or are pregnant or nursing—talk with a healthcare provider before starting. This is educational information, not medical advice.
